Report: Ukrainian Min says gas transit deal with Russia ’19 possible

KIEV, Dec 19 (PRIME) -- Russia and Ukraine still have a chance to agree on gas transit in 2019, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Vadim Pristaiko told channel Ukraine 24 late on Wednesday after Ukrainian energy holding Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Andrei Kobolev said that the possibility that the countries sign a new deal in 2019 is close to zero.

“Andrei Kobolev is a professional who deals with the issue. I am looking at it with a broader lens: the part, which, as we understand, is part of a big puzzle of it all. It still seems to me that our team has an opportunity to agree on provision of gas to Europe,” Pristaiko said.

The current supply and transit contracts between Russia and Ukraine expire at the end of 2019.
